Mindfulness Meditation: Your Happiness?

happy lifeWhen you think of happiness, what comes to your mind first? Is it an illusory feeling that you can never grasp, or is it a particular way of thinking about approaching happiness through particular behaviors that make you happy? From a psychological perspective, happiness is a mental state, or more simply, happiness means that someone is satisfied with their life.

The good news is that you don’t have to look far for happiness because the feeling of happiness is already inside you, waiting for you to feel it, but often your feelings are always covered by negative emotions or feelings. Just tap it and you’ll be back to your happy place in no time. Start practicing mindfulness to rediscover that happiness and live a more fulfilling life. Everything you need to know about the relationship between mindfulness meditation and contentment is included below.

So, What Exactly Is Meditating On Happiness?

Finding inner peace and fulfillment doesn’t always seem like a huge smile, spontaneous grin. As an alternative, it’s a link to our deepest selves that brings us true happiness and fulfillment.

When we meditate with the intention of experiencing joy and happiness, we set the stage for that emotion to arise. In doing so, we foster four key pillars or ingredients of happiness, including: kindness (toward others and toward ourselves), empathy (toward others and toward ourselves), playfulness, and inner balance. Including these elements in our routine helps us get back in touch with our happiness and cast off our negative self-talk.

Do We Have A Problem With Happiness?

Feeling uneasy or even afraid of happiness is something that those who have dealt with anxiety or depression may be able to relate to. Psychiatrist Paul Gilbert of England’s Kingsway Hospital found that this syndrome is relatively prevalent and has a variety of manifestations. As a rule, this dread takes the form of one of these three things:

  1. People who feel uneasy whenever they begin to unwind or slack off.
  2. People who are afraid to experience joy for fear of what might happen next.
  3. People who have learned to be anxious all the time and who experience unpleasantness when they don’t have any worries to focus on

If any of these sound familiar to you, know that you are not alone and that there is still hope. The brain is capable of growth and change because of a phenomenon known as neuroplasticity. Meditation on positive emotions like happiness and joy can help you become used to the idea of thinking positively.

The Optimal Level Of Happiness

For a long time, it was believed that we each have a happy breakpoint, or a fixed average amount of happiness that naturally exists within us based on genetics. However, neuroplasticity has shown that this set point is, in fact, changeable.

Through meditation, you can change your brain’s wiring and return to a more joyful state of mind. At least according to scientific research, the amygdala, the part of the brain that gets activated when you’re stressed, can shrink, and the parts of the brain that help you deal with hard situations can be turned on.

Mindfulness Meditation’s Positive Effects On Well-Being

Living in constant fear of fulfillment, according to researcher Paul Gilbert, is related to heightened feelings of both anxiety and sadness. Investing time and effort in improving your mental health and broadening your outlook on the potential of happiness might help minimize your chances of anxiety and sadness. Managing stress and sleeping better are two benefits of leading a healthy lifestyle.

Remember that changing your mind can change your entire world.

Allow Change to Bring You Joy And Happiness

First and foremost, think about your habits. Consider yourself sitting in your automobile, staring out the window as inner thoughts, sensations, and events pass you by. When someone drives by and disturbs your peace, you may feel unsafe. Or do you get frustrated and agitated when you try to stop or chase other cars in heavy traffic? Consider these transitory ideas and experiences as you prepare to change your perception. The simplest method is to do nothing other than quietly observe how your feelings, sensations, or thoughts arise in your head. The results you achieve will astound you.

Pay Attention to the Joys of Others

Focusing on the pleasure of others is a guaranteed way to bring greater joy into your own life. As you begin your day, cultivate mindfulness of happiness towards everyone around you. Think about the happiness of the people around you often. This will help you change your outlook on the future in terms of your relationships with other people.

Practice Mindfulness Meditation For Instant Happiness

When you’re ready to begin practicing, find a comfortable position and close your eyes if necessary. Pay attention to your breathing and try to breathe deeply and slowly. Breathe deeply and allow a sense of peace and tranquility to wash over you. As you exhale, let go of any tension. Allow the warm, soothing breath to spread from head to toe.

Do whatever it takes to achieve peace and tranquility in your own special way. You will have more space for positive thoughts when your body is calm, your emotions are at ease, and your mind is at ease.

Then invite or recall a time in your life when you were filled with happiness and joy, whether you were with a loved one or in a beautiful location.

When revealing your past, try to recall as many specific events as possible. To the best of your ability, combine images from that time and place. For instance, what happened? What about the surrounding environment? Are you by yourself or with others? What kind of visual or audio effects are there?

Most importantly, remember to feel what you did at the time to make your body feel satisfied or happy. Do you feel energized in your body? Are you full of energy? Is it appealing to your mind? Once you are fully aware of your feelings, you can relax and focus your attention on the sensations in your body as well as the mental state you are in. As you inhale and exhale, allow those feelings to fully develop within you.

You must continue to form the habit over the next week by recalling those happy images and feelings on a regular basis. You keep practicing and storing these positive feelings without having to remember how.

In fact, the more you practice eliciting this feeling of happiness, the more accessible your happiness will become. Continue to train your mind and body to be happy in the present moment rather than in the promises of the future.
You can also use this method if you are feeling stuck in your life and want to shift into a more positive state of mind. Of course, if you continue to practice mindfulness meditation on a daily basis, you will be able to live a happier life.
